ASEAN Public Health Emergencies Response Center to begin operating soon
(VOVWORLD) - ASEAN members have agreed to put the ASEAN Coordinating Council Working Group on Public Health Emergencies (ACCWG-PHE) into operation soon.

At the seventh online meeting of the ACCWG-PHE on Monday, ASEAN leaders were urged to adopt the ASEAN Travel Corridor Arrangement Framework and continue considering the possibility of accepting vaccine passports.
Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung urged ASEAN to step up vaccine purchases and the voluntary sharing of vaccines to help those countries most in need. He also encouraged additional contributions to the ASEAN COVID-19 response fund and the ASEAN reserve of medical supplies.
Dung recommended that ASEAN continue to promote economic recovery and mitigation of the negative effects of the pandemic.
