ASEAN scientists aim to tap regional potentials

Scientists from Southeast Asia have gathered in HCM city for the 62nd meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology. Participants reviewed scientific and technological cooperation within ASEAN over the past year and work out a plan of action until 2017. Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology, Nguyen Quan, addressed the opening ceremony Wednesday. “The ASEAN community has mapped out an action plan with the setting up of the ASEAN Science Fund. As one of the most dynamic regions in the world, ASEAN boasts great potential for science and technology,” he said.

Vietnam will chair the Committee in the 2011-2012 term.
