ASEAN to hold first-ever joint military drills
(VOVWORLD) - The military chiefs of ASEAN countries and Timor Leste have agreed to hold joint military drills in the North Natuna Sea, said Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Admiral Yudo Margono.

This will be the first-ever joint military drills within ASEAN member states, he added.
According to Margono, the exercises are slated for September this year, focusing on maritime security and rescue and social services.
He said the drills reflect ASEAN’s centrality and will not involve combat operations training.
