Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed Friday that his administration will keep working to make a national dialogue successful in tandem with fighting terrorism " that aims to destabilize the security and stability in Syria and the entire region." Assad made the remarks during a meeting with the visiting Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani, who flew here to hold talks with Assad on regional and international issues as well as the Syrian crisis on Friday. According to the state-run SANA news agency, both parts reiterated their countries' keenness to keep reinforcing bilateral relations in all fields. Assad said there is an ongoing connection between the Syrian and Iranian officials at all levels, adding that the week-long conflict between Gaza and Israel has taken most of the meeting's time. For his side, Larijani said the meeting and discussion with Assad were "valuable and very good especially regarding the incidents that took place in Palestine and the big victory the Palestinian people had achieved."
