At least 15 die in Libya car bomb blast
At least 15 people died and 30 others were wounded when a car bomb exploded near a hospital yesterday in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi. According to Libya’s Deputy Interior Minister Abdullah Massoud, the death toll may rise from the blast which caused widespread damage to the hospital. This is the latest of a wave of attacks in Benghazi in recent weeks. Four police stations in Benghazi have been bombed and there have been many attacks against security officials in Benghazi, where the uprising against Moamer Kadhafi began in 2011. Local authorities blame extremists for the bombings, including the attack on the US Consulate last September. The attack killed US ambassador Chris Stevens and three security officers.
