(VOVWORLD) -Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is promising to strengthen his country’s cooperation with ASEAN members to halt the spread of terrorism across the region.

In an article published by The Age, Australia’s biggest weekly magazine, on March 14, PM Turnbull hailed the “milestone” summit with ASEAN in Australia this weekend and pledged greater cooperation against violent extremism.
He wrote that Australia and ASEAN are indispensable strategic partners and work together to maintain regional security. The rising threat of terrorism and extremism is a shared challenge that can only be tackled together.
Prime Minister Turnbull said he wants the potential of the ASEAN-Australia relationship to grow further.
