Chairman Hue’s visit to Australia is an opportunity to increase mutual understanding of the two countries' legislative bodies.

In an interview with VOV’s correspondent in Australia, Ms. Lines said: "To demonstrate to your listeners the importance of our relationship, Mr. Hue is the first guest of Parliament of the new government and that’s how important we see that relationship. He’ll bring his understandings, particularly for the Mayor and new presiding officer, but also to other people, that he has about the current issues and aspirations of the Vietnamese people."

Ms. Lines also mentioned that the Australian Parliament has a 57-member Friendship Parliamentary Group with Vietnam, one of the largest friendship groups in the Australian Parliament, suggesting that Australia wants a deeper understanding of, and closer relations with Vietnam.

She said: "I think as the President, one of the important elements for me is the bilateral exchanges between the Parliaments. That’s really important. The Vietnam Friendship Group is one of the largest we have in the Parliament. President Hue’s visit is an opportunity for us to discuss different ways that Australia and Vietnam can work together through our Parliaments and parties on the shared challenges that we face."
