(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has urged Bac Lieu province to focus on restructuring its agriculture combined with building new rural areas.

At a ceremony to mark the 20^th anniversary of the reestablishment of Bac Lieu on Friday, the top legislator called for efforts to develop the model of growing rice and raising shrimps. She said: “The province needs to boost regional connectivity, particularly with the south-western region and the Mekong delta in line with the Mekong delta development plan until 2020 and vision until 2030. Bac Lieu should reform its growth model and economic restructuring to ensure horizontal and vertical development.”
