Bac Lieu urged to tap its potential for further development

(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on Saturday held a working session with Bac Lieu provincial authorities. In his address, Prime Minister Dung asked local authorities to bring into full play its potential, especially in terms of land and human resource, to boost local socio-economic development. He stressed the need to focus on upgrading the infrastructure, improving the values of agricultural and seafood products using local labour force. Dung said: “It is necessary to review the plans, infrastructure, capital, breeds, processing technology and markets to increase the values of agricultural products, especially seafood. We also need to duplicate effective production models including the intensive shrimp raising model to yield more than 200 tons per ha per year”.Dung said the government supported Bac Lieu province to develop wind power because it is a common trend in the world and it can contribute to power supply and GDP and is environmentally friendly. Dung urged the province to further promote local tourism development and pay more attention to poverty reduction, job generation, educational and human resource development. On the occasion, Prime Minister Dung and Deputy Prime Minister Dam inspected key projects in Bac Lieu and a memorial site of Don Ca Tai Tu or Amateur singing and artist Cao Van Lau.
