(VOVworld) – UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Tuesday that he hopes US president-elect Donald Trump will reverse his stance against the Paris agreement on climate change and back the agreement.

At a press briefing on the threshold of the COP22 climate change conference in Marrakech, Morocco, Mr. Ban said he is confident that President Trump will really hear and understand the severity and urgency of addressing climate change. He said he hopes that Trump, as president of the US, will drop his pledge to withdraw from the Paris agreement and make a quick, wise decision on US participation in the treaty.
