(VOVWORLD) - The King and Queen of Belgium will pay a State visit to Vietnam from March 31 to April 4 at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.

Meeting the press prior to the visit, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized the significance of this visit, saying it marks the first State-level trip in 50 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973. The visit takes place as Vietnam enters a new phase of development, underscoring both countries' commitment to elevating their partnership to new heights.
The visit aims to enhance political trust and expand cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, logistics, energy transition, climate change response, healthcare, and food. Accompanying the Belgian delegation will be 34 CEOs from leading Belgian and EU corporations, along with 16 leaders from top universities and research institutes, reflecting the strong interest in fostering economic and academic collaboration.
