The first face-to-face round of US-Russian strategic stability talks took place in Geneva on Wednesday.
The US delegation discussed the security sphere and prospects of establishing "new nuclear arms control," the US State Department said in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the meeting was professional and substantive.
Russia and the US currently possess 90% of the world's nuclear warheads. At the Geneva Summit in June, US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to lay the groundwork for future arms control and risk reduction measures.
