(VOVWORLD) -US President Joe Biden on Wednesday hosted NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Washington D.C to prepare for the NATO summit in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on July 11 and 12.

Biden and Stoltenberg discussed the effects of the conflict in Ukraine on transatlantic security as well as NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities.
Both welcomed the support of partners and allies for Ukraine and stressed the need for the Allies to honor their defense investment commitments made at the NATO summit in Wales in 2014.
The US President and NATO Secretary-General expressed hope to welcome Sweden as a full member of NATO as soon as possible.
