As a non-governmental organization, the VVAF set up a representative office in Vietnam in 1994 to assist Vietnam in various programs like clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance, supporting handicapped people and victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin, and improving education and healthcare. In a two-year period, the Boeing Company has helped build three primary schools in the three northern provinces of Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, and Cao Bang.
