(VOVworld) – At least 38 people were killed and 54 injured in 3 car bomb attacks in Islamic Shiite areas in Baghdad. Police said a car bomb exploded at a police checkpoint in Kadhimiyah, west of Baghdad, killing 13 people. 2 similar bombings occurred at a busy street and a security checkpoint in Shoala district, killing 25 and injuring 23. No group has claimed responsibility for the bombings. According to UN statistics, violence claimed more than 1,100 lives in Iraq in September alone.
