The surviving Boston bombing suspect could face the death penalty after being charged by US officials on Monday. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 years old, is accused of using a weapon of mass destruction resulting in death, and of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device causing death. Tsarnaev could face two more charges. The US Department of Justice says Tsarnaev was charged while lying in his hospital bed, under heavy guard. On May 30, he will stand trial. White House press secretary Jay Carney said Tsarnaev will not be considered an “enemy combatant” but a “US citizenship terrorist” so he will be tried by the US civil justice system. The same day, Boston policemen and some FBI agents said more bombs have been found which the Tsarnaev brothers may have planned to use in other terrorist bombings.
