(VOVworld)- Britain's Peter Higgs and Belgum’s François Englert have won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics for their discovery of the Higgs Boson mechanism, the so-called “God’s cell”, which helps to explain the existence of matter. At the award ceremony on Tuesday, the Nobel Committee said the two scientists discovered a mechanism that helps humans understand the basis of a molecule’s weight. The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to 194 people since 1901. The 2013 Noble Prizes in Chemistry, Literature, Peace, and Economics will be announced in the coming days. 1.2 million USD, the value of the 2013 Nobel Prize will be handed to the winners at a solemn ceremony in Stockholm on December 10.
