British Foreign Secretary resigns amid Brexit fallout
(VOVWORLD) - British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson resigned on Tuesday to protest government plans to maintain a close trade partnership with the EU after Brexit.

Johnson’s resignation came one day after Brexit chief David Davis resigned. Prime Minister Theresa May appointed Jeremy Hunt to replace Johnson.
The resignations of two officials who have backed her since her inauguration day left May badly exposed in a government unable to unite behind Britain’s biggest policy shift in half a century. May said the EU must take a constructive approach to her Brexit plan, otherwise no agreement can be reached.
