British Prime Minister begins visit to US
(VOVWORLD) -British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Tuesday left for Washington, DC, to begin a two-day visit to the US to promote economic cooperation between and discuss issues of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Sunak will meet President Joe Biden on Thursday and will also meet with US lawmakers and business leaders. According to a British government announcement, Sunak will support greater economic cooperation between the UK and the US in the context of global instability.
En route to Washington, the Prime Minister announced US investment in Britain of 17 billion USD, some of which has already been deployed. Underlining the US-UK military alliance at the heart of NATO, Sunak said their economic relationship is also needed to defend Western democracy.
