Bulgaria a priority partner of Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the legislative body of Vietnam and Bulgaria will coordinate closely to monitor the effective implementation of cooperation mechanisms and agreements between the two Governments.

Chairman Hue on Monday told the media about the results of his talks with  Bulgarian National Assembly Speaker Rossen Dimitrov Jeliazkov in Hanoi that the talks were very successful with extensive exchanges on bilateral cooperation in all fields and a number of regional and global issues of shared concerns.

Chairman Hue appreciated the goodwill of the Bulgarian National Assembly for ratifying the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) shortly before the September 2023 visit of the National Assembly Chairman of Vietnam to Bulgaria.

“The Bulgarian National Assembly will help lobby the Parliaments of other EU countries to ratify this Agreement soon so that it will take effect and create a solid legal framework for EU businesses, including Bulgarian and Vietnamese businesses to strengthen bilateral investment cooperation for mutual benefit,"  Hue said, adding "Based on the recent fruitful cooperation, we firmly believe that the relationship between the two parliaments will be raised to new heights, contributing to the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria and aiming to celebrate the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2025.”

Speaker of the Bulgarian NA Rosen Dimitrov Jeliazkov told the media,“The two sides will supplement the legal basis on labor, creating a basis for Bulgaria to welcome Vietnamese workers."

"On the ratification of the investment protection agreement and the prospects for cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and in the ASEAN region, on the basis of trust between the National Assembly of the two countries and their existing friendship, the two sides need to be more responsible to take advantage of the potentials and agreements signed in bilateral cooperation,” said Jeliazkov.
