Bulgarian, Danish FMs talk cooperation with Vietnam

(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met with the Bulgarian and Danish Foreign Ministers on Saturday on the sidelines of the ongoing UN Summit in New York.
At the meeting with Bulgarian FM Daniel Mitov, Deputy PM Minh said the two ministries and other agencies of the two countries should work closely together to implement agreements reached during the official visit to Bulgaria by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung last June. He suggested Bulgaria consider granting official development assistance (ODA) or preferential credit for environment and health projects in Vietnam, especially within the Mekong - Danube cooperation framework. FM Mitov said the two sides should prepare carefully for the meeting of the joint committee on cooperation next November and the two foreign ministries’ political consulting meeting this year. The two FMs agreed on the necessity of boosting international cooperation in the sustainable use and management of water resources on major cross-border rivers, as well as in climate change adaptation and ecological protection.
At his meeting with Danish FM Kristian Jensen, Mr. Minh conveyed his thanks to the Danish Government for providing large amounts of ODA to Vietnam in recent years, saying Vietnam hopes to increase collaboration with Denmark in trade, investment, science, technology, green growth, climate change, education, and training. The two sides praised the encouraging growth of bilateral trade, which will be sustained via specific trade and investment promotion activities. Mr. Jensen said Denmark attaches great importance to its comprehensive partnership with Vietnam and pledges to continue support for Vietnam in education and in green and sustainable development. The two diplomats agreed to consider signing an agreement on education cooperation while pushing ahead with the implementation of the Vietnam-Denmark action plan in the 2014-2015 period and the building of a new plan for the 2016-2017 period.
Also on Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met with Cameroon Foreign Minister Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo. They agreed to exchange administrative and business delegations to boost cooperation for mutual benefits. Mr. Minh suggested both sides to soon negotiating an Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement and Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and finalizing an agreement on visa exemption for official passport holders. Minister Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo said the Cameroon government wants to boost multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam and will offer favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Vietnam.
