Businesses seek to optimize opportunities from EVFTA amid COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) hosted a seminar in Hanoi on Wednesday to seek opportunities from the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) amid the COVID-19 adversity.

It brought together 150 businesspeople active in agricultural products, food processing, paper making, dietary supplements, logistics, and banking.

Ngo Khac Le, a legal consultant to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association, advised Vietnamese firms to study the legal requirements approaching big markets like the EU.

“We should hold meetings frequently on legal services, corporate contracts, and the regulations of each targeted market to reduce business costs spent on such issues. It’s necessary for enterprises to inform others about their problems and settlements to avoid future similar cases,” said Le.

Vu Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), the event’s co-host, reminded those who are about to enter a new market to make a thorough study of the market regulations so as to avoid legal risks.
