Businesses updated about EVFTA
(VOVWORLD) - Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc said the EVFTA is expected to create new opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises if they have a correct and full understanding of the agreement and prepare themselves for commitments.

He was speaking at a workshop to update businesses about the pact’s issues of their interests: “To help businesses get prepared for challenges in learning the core commitments of the agreement, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has published a manual to guide businesses about the EVFTA. It was compiled by various experts with in-depth knowledge and experience in advising businesses about FTA’s in general.”
Vietnam’s exports to the EU in August stood at US$3.78 billion, of which, goods and products worth US$277 million, or 7.3% of the total export turnover, received preferential treatment from the deal. Fisheries exports increased to the EU increased by 10% last month while Vietnam’s fragrant rice has been exported to the EU at 0% tariff rate for the first time.
