The project’s first phase will be carried out from now until 2030, involving investing in two docks to accommodate ships up to 250,000 DWT.
The location in Phu My Town, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, with a wide and deep navigation capacity enables Cai Mep Ha Port to receive large cargo ships.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the consortium’s proposal for Phase 1 aligns with Vietnam’s overall master plan and detailed planning for seaports in terms of ship size and functionality.
Under an approved master plan for developing Vietnam’s seaport system for this decade, with a vision to 2050, Cai Mep Ha has been identified by the government as one of the priority seaport areas.
