Cambodia thanks Vietnam for support in COVID-19 fight

(VOVWORLD) - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who is also President of the Cambodian People’s Party, sent a letter on Thursday to thank Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for his concern about the COVID-19 pandemic in Cambodia.

In the letter, Mr. Hun Sen thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for maintaining their friendship, solidarity and sharing with the Cambodians in any circumstances. The Cambodian Prime Minister praised Vietnam’s effective response to the pandemic and its support in the global efforts to fight the disease, particularly support for Cambodia.
At an online meeting with Cambodian Minister of Health Mam Bunheng on Thursday, Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said Vietnam is ready to send Cambodia 800 respirators and 2 million facial masks. On Monday, Vietnam presented Cambodia 300,000 USD to help fight against COVID-19.
