Fresh News on Tuesday cited PM Hun Manet as saying that he believes his talks with the Vietnamese Prime Minister will make an important contribution to the traditional friendship, good neighborliness, comprehensive, long-term, sustainable cooperation between the two countries despite rapid, unpredictable changes in the region and the world.
The same day, AKP, the national news agency of Cambodia, ran an article highlighting the bilateral trade target of 20 billion USD, and cited PM Hun Manet as saying that the Governments of Cambodia and Vietnam set a trade target of 5 billion USD in 2020, but that figure doubled to almost 11 billion USD in 2022.
The Cambodian Prime Minister said with strong political trust, Cambodia and Vietnam will continue to successfully implement their agreements, MoUs, and orientations.
He mentioned the support they gave each other during their struggles for national independence. That Cambodia helped Vietnam reunify the country and that Vietnam helped Cambodia liberate itself from a genocidal regime are historical truths no dissident force can distort.
