Cambodian PM: Cambodia ready in emergency status

(VOVWORLD) - Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techno Hun Sen on Saturday asked for closure of businesses and restaurants which do not abide by the Health Ministry’s regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control and urged people to wear masks and practice social distancing under regulations.

In a message released on Sunday, Prime Minister Hun Sen also said the government has prepared a draft document to submit to the Cambodian King, the President of the Senate and the President of the National Assembly to consider putting Cambodia in a state of emergency after a spike of COVID-19 cases. The Prime Minister said he did not expect this because it might affect the economy.
On Sunday, Cambodia reported one more case of COVID-19 infection in communiity 19, raising the number of infection cases in the country to 346.
