(VOVWORLD) - Can Tho City’s authorities on Tuesday announced the first shipment of home-grown green-skinned mangoes to Australia and the US.

The shipment included air transport of one ton to Australia and one ton to the US.
The Mekong Delta City now has over 25,000 hectares of fruit trees, with 193 planting area codes.
Many local fruit products have been exported to demanding markets, said Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee.
Vietnam is currently the 13th largest mango producer in the world. Vietnamese mangoes are harvested all year round, with the peak season from March to July.
