Prime Minister Trudeau sent his condolences to Hall’s family and friends, and reaffirmed Canada’s refusal to pay ransoms. He condemned the kidnapping, saying it would cause further instability and violence. Earlier, the Islamic Abu Sayyaf militants in Southern Philippines confirmed the execution of Robert Hall, adding that his dead body will be found somewhere in Jolo village on June 13th. However, the Philippine police force has not found his body until Monday evening. Hall was killed after Aby Sayyaf did not receive the ransom demand of 13 million USD at the deadline of 3pm on June 13. At the G7 Summit in Japan, Prime Minister Trudeau urged other countries not to pay ransoms that would increase terrorism and kidnapping.
