Canada pledges support for free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific
(VOVWORLD) - Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand said Monday at the Shangri-La Dialogue 2022 that Canada is committed to building a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

A new Indo-Pacific Strategy will guide Canadian engagement in the region, Anand said, adding that Canada intends to diversify and increase its supportive presence in the region from a defense perspective.
The Canadian delegation to the Dialogue met with counterparts from 13 different countries and the US-led United Nations Command to discuss shared interests and shared challenges and explore areas for future collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
