Canada’s Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-Claude Bibeau
(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received on Monday Canada’s Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-Claude Bibeau, who is on a visit to Vietnam from Sunday to Wednesday. Minister Bibeau hailed Vietnam’s important role in the region and said Canada hopes boost bilateral ties with Vietnam in politics, diplomacy, trade-investment, education-science, and to increase development aids for Vietnam.
Deputy PM Minh proposed both sides increase delegation exchanges, boost bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, and investment in a more practical manner to make full use of advantages of Vietnam and opportunities brought by the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He asked Canada’s Development Agency to continue its aids for Vietnam, especially in green growth, climate change response, education, poverty reduction, and support Vietnam in hosting of 2017 APEC CEO Summit in Da Nang.
During her visit in Vietnam, Minister Bibeau will have meetings with leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development where both sides discussed plans to support Vietnam in the future.
