The representatives, including scholars from Britain, the US, and Argentina, discussed Vietnam’s socialist-oriented market economy.
The participants said that thanks to the renewal process, Vietnam has developed from a low income country and a food importer into the world’ s second biggest rice exporter with income per capita of around 2,800 USD. Last year, Vietnam still managed to gain the growth rate of 2.91 percent while many others saw negative growth.
The Canadian participants said they wanted to learn from Vietnam’s experience in the fight against COVID-19, as well as highly appreciated Vietnam’s achievements in the struggles for national independence, construction and defence. They added the Communist Party of Vietnam inspired and led the whole nation to every success and achievement.
