Central Africa remains chaotic after interim President resigns

(VOVworld)The former Central African Republic president Michel Djotodia has arrived in Benin, after resigning under pressure for his failure to tackle bloody religious violence in his homeland. Benin’s Foreign Minister Nassirou Bako Arifari said the Benin’s government has accepted the request of central African states to allow Djotodia to come to Benin.

Earlier, Djotodia and Prime Minister Nicolas Tiengaye announced their resignations at a special conference on Central African Republic of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) held in Chad Republic’s capital Ndjamena. Negotiations to decide on a new board of leaders for Central African Republic will take place in capital Bangui of this country. The Central African Republic’s interim Congress will hold an emergency meeting on Monday.
