(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese community in Laos organized a grand ceremony on Sunday in the capital Vientiane to pay tribute to their parents on the 15^th day of the 7^th lunar month of the Buddhist calendar 2558. Speaking at the event’s opening ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang hailed the people’s participation in the event which reflects the Vietnamese fine tradition of remembering the source of the water we drink.

He said that the Vietnamese community in Laos always attaches great importance to this fine tradition of paying gratitude to parents and grandparents on every 15^th of the 7^th lunar month. They also took this occasion to commemorate fallen Vietnamese and Laotian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the two countries’ independence and special friendship.
