Chile pulls out of hosting APEC and COP 25
(VOVWORLD) - Chile on Wednesday withdrew from hosting the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit and the COP 25 climate change conference as it struggles to restore order amid clashes between protesters and security forces that have left at least 20 dead.

Chilean President Sebastian Pinera said this was a difficult but reasonable decision.
Chile is in a serious crisis. Millions of people are protesting current social policies. The Chilean government had to declare a state of emergency in the capital city of Santiago for several days.
