(VOVworld) – Leaders of APEC member countries have discussed efforts to build an Asia Pacific partnership and enhance Asia Pacific’s role in the world economy.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said at a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday following the conclusion of the 22^nd APEC summit that the summit revived the effort to establish an Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area. Participants agreed on the need to promote infrastructure building for economic growth and improve the competitiveness of the Asia-Pacific region in line with benefits and demand for long-term development of member countries. The summit approved a plan on APEC connectivity, enhancing connectivity and people’s exchanges.
