China hosts Middle East Security Forum
(VOVWORLD) - The Middle East Security Forum themed "Security in the Middle East under the New Situation: Challenges and Prospects" opened on Wednesday in Beijing, China.
The 2-day event is attended by 200 scholars from 30 countries and international organizations. Participants discussed the importance of fairness and justice to the Middle East’s long-term security, multilateralism, conflict resolutions, and the role of civilized dialogues in fighting terrorism and extremism.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said China hopes the forum will find a solution to the Middle East’s current situation, which is unstable, complicated, and creates an opportunity for the resurgence of terrorism.
