(VOVWORLD) - China expects that the coming visit of Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President To Lam on August 18-20 will deepen the building of a community with a shared future, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

In a statement sent to VOV’s Bureau in Beijing and posted on the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said that during the visit, the two Party General Secretaries and Presidents will hold talks, and other Chinese leaders, including Premier Li Keqiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning, will meet with the Vietnamese leader.
She noted that General Secretary and President To Lam’s decision to visit China on his first overseas trip after taking office reflects a high regard for developing bilateral relations between the two Parties and States.
China expects that through this visit, the two countries will continue to promote traditional friendship, and deepen the building of the Chinese-Vietnamese community with a shared future, as well as progressing well together on the path of socialist modernization with their own characteristics, jointly promoting the development of world socialism, and actively contributing to regional and global peace, stability and development, said the diplomat.
