Accordingly, China would impose “reciprocal visa restrictions” on US personnel involved in accusations against Beijing over alleged “forced assimilation” policy in Tibet and those who had “meddled in Tibet-related issues for a long time”, to retaliate a similar move by Washington against Beijing’s officials.

The 80 millions USD aid package is the first-ever US’s military transfer to Taiwan (China) under its Foreign Military Financing program (FMF). The material would be used to strengthen Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities through joint and combined defense capability and enhanced maritime domain awareness and maritime security capability, the US’s State Department said on Wednesday.

Wu reiterated that the security of the Taiwan region relies on the joint efforts of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits under the one-China principle, rather than US military aid and arms sales to the region.
