(VOVworld) – Xinhua News Agency on Tuesday quoted the National Health and Family Planning Commission’s prediction that China's total population will reach 1.42 billion by 2020.

According to China’s 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) for family planning, the annual population growth rate will be around 0.6 percent and China's gender ratio at birth will fall to 112 boys for every 100 girls by 2020. 2016-2020 will be a key period for implementing China’s two-child policy.
