China’s Prime Minister warns against ‘chaos and conflicts’ in Asia

(VOVWORLD) - Asia must avoid “chaos and conflicts” or the region’s future will be lost, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang said at the opening ceremony for the 2023 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) on Thursday in China's Hainan province.

Li said the Asian way is based on important principles of mutual respect, consensus through negotiation, and consideration of the adaptation of parties involved to create a foundation for the development of cooperation amongst countries.

Li called on the world to oppose the abuse of unilateral sanctions, the new Cold War, and persist in resolving disputes among countries through peaceful means.

In the first two months of this year, the Chinese economy tended to recover, said Li with main economic indicators continuing to improve and growth momentum becoming stronger. The Chinese economy has great flexibility and potential.

The ongoing BFA which is scheduled to wrap up on Friday, has attracted some 2,000 delegates from 50 countries and territories.
