(VOVWORLD) -The 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body, opened its second annual session on Monday in Beijing.

Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and other Chinese leaders attended the opening meeting held at the Great Hall of the People.
Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, reviewed the outstanding achievements in the political consultation work in 2023 on all aspects, and applauded the contributions of CPPCC to the Communist Party of China and China in the past year.
The session is scheduled to end on March 10. The proposed agenda for the session includes hearing and deliberating a work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and a report on how the proposals from political advisors have been handled since the previous session of the CPPCC National Committee.
The 14th CPPCC National Committee has focused on making suggestions on the Chinese path to modernization in a wide range of fields, including China's rural revitalization, development for private enterprises, building the country's ecological civilization, enhancing the influence of Chinese civilization and improving policy systems to boost birth rates, said Liu Jieyi, spokesperson for the second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
