Chinese expert: PM Pham Minh Chinh’s visit strengthens bilateral cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to China and his participation at the World Economic Forum in Tianjin will lay a foundation for further practical cooperation between the two countries in the near future, said Dong Yu, a Chinese expert on economic development.

Dong Yu, Executive Vice President of the China Development and Planning Research Institute of Tsinghua University, said the prospects of bilateral economic cooperation are huge because the two countries are mutually supportive in terms of industrial and supply chains.
Vietnam has strong agriculture, electronics and garment and textile sectors. In recent years, Vietnam has strengthened the manufacturing sector for export, accelerated the shift of the growth model, and upgraded industries which are the foundation for Vietnam’s economy to rise and create opportunities for bilateral trade cooperation, said Mr. Dong Yu.
Mr. Dong Yu said Vietnam is now in the important period of shifting its growth model, so it’s necessary to upgrade its infrastructure, expand cooperation with neighboring countries and the world market, acquire more experience and technology to enable Vietnam’s economy to bring into play its internal strength and grow more rapidly and sustainably.
