(VOVworld)- On Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping met the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte in Beijing.

Chinese, Philippine Presidents meet in Beijing

The two leaders praised the development of their bilateral ties and discussed ways to address their disputes. Mr. Xi urged the two countries to cooperate in implementing comprehensive strategies for their mutual benefit. He said China would encourage its enterprises to increase investment in the Philippines. This is President Duterte’s first visit to a non-ASEAN member country since he took office in June and also the first visit to China by a Philippines leader since 2011. President Duterte is accompanied by 200 leading Filipino enterprises during his visit to China from October 18 to 21.
