Juan Manuel Santos won a second term as president
(VOVworld) – With 95% of the votes counted, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos won a second term on Sunday, allowing him to continue peace talks with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). On the first ballot in May, Santos won only 26% of the votes, 3% less than his right-wing challenger Oscar Ivan Zuluaga. During the campaign, Santos promoted peace talks while Zuluaga urged an immediate arrest of FARC leaders.
