Conference examines Vietnam-Germany economic cooperation opportunities
(VOVWORLD) -200 business people and representatives of international organizations on Saturday discussed ways to seize opportunities for substantial and effective economic cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.
Delegates attended a conference in Hanoi on Saturday organized by The Voice of Vietnam, the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Huong Sen Group. The event is part of the Kulturfest Vietnam-Germany Culture Festival 2020 over the weekend.
For the past 45 years and since the 2011 Hanoi Joint Declaration, Germany has always been Vietnam's largest trade partner in Europe. Two-way trade turnover has doubled to more than 10 billion USD. More than 300 German enterprises are operating 361 projects in Vietnam with a total capital of over 2 billion USD.
The two countries’ solid political relations, their extensive economic cooperation, and newly-implemented EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) are expected to elevate Vietnam's strategic relationship with Germany, which is holding the EU rotating chair, to a new level.
