Cooperation with Laos, Cambodia top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy: PM

(VOVWORLD) - On Tuesday Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working breakfast with the Prime Ministers of Laos and Cambodia while attending the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The three Prime Ministers agreed to maintain their working mechanisms to tighten solidarity, friendship, and cooperation.
They agreed to improve current cooperation mechanisms and coordinate organizing the 13th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam summit on development and a meeting this year in Laos of their National Assembly Chairmen, and to promote exchanges and training for young people and young leaders to bolster future cooperation.

The three PMs agreed to continue creating policies and measures to facilitate trade and investment cooperation, with a focus on border trade, the land border gate system, enhance connections between their economies in hard and soft infrastructure, production, and supply chains, and maintain their competitive advantages in heritage, culture, and cuisine to boost tourism, with an immediate mission of promoting the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia tour packages.
Prime Minister Chinh said cooperation with Laos and Cambodia is a top priority of Vietnam's foreign policy.
He suggested the three countries resolve issues delaying completion of border demarcation and marker planting for a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development for the benefit of the people of each country.
