(VOVworld) – 10 days of heated debate of the 19^th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 19) concluded on Friday in Warsaw, Poland, with differences between developing and developed countries about major issues of climate change adaptation. The conference is likely to be lengthened for one more day.

Parties still retained their disagreements on funding to help poor countries respond to global warming and cut down greenhouse gas emissions.

In the 2009 conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, rich countries committed 100-billion-USD aid per year, which was expected to be available until 2020. But in reality, the disbursement has not been done as pledged. Loss and damage mechanisms caused by natural disasters were another big difference. Developed countries looked forward to a new one, meanwhile, developing countries refused to agree to terms due to their fear of the possible giant amount of finance required.
