(VOVWORLD) - Egypt has decried the US veto Monday of a UN Security Council resolution, and called on the US to withdraw its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said it proposed a draft resolution on behalf of Arab countries to condemn Donald Trump’s decision. The US dismissed the draft resolution after it was supported by 14 members of the UN Security Council, including the UK, France, Italy, Japan, and Ukraine.
Turkey said the draft resolution was vetoed by one vote against 14, calling it objectivity lost. Turkey said a Security Council neutralized by vote is unacceptable.
