(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Tuesday that the US will withdraw from a multinational nuclear agreement with Iran, was opposed by the UN and many coutries, including Russia, France, Germany, and the UK.

The Foreign Ministry of Germany said German will stay in the nuclear agreement with Iran, which is called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Prime Minister Charles Michel of Belgium said he deeply regrets the withdrawal by Donald Trump from the JCPOA, calling on the EU and its international partners to remain committed and saying Iran must continue to fulfil its obligations.
Turkish Presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin said the US’s unilateral move will cause regional instability and new conflicts.
Simon Coveney, Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade said he was greatly disappointed by President Trump's decision and he hopes the other parties will continue to follow the agreement.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned that Iran might restart enriching uranium “without any limitations” within weeks, though he said world powers still in the accord could potentially save the pact.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned President Trump's decision, saying it will increase tensions in the world.
